The importance of place is a critical step in developing our sense of personal identity and community connection. How we care for and connect to our place is dependent on the strength and clarity of this link. The Regional League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Youth Conference will focus on helping Latinx teens explore this sense of place and better understand their ability to impact, shape and nurture their environment. Giving back to the community through stewardship, volunteering or choosing a career that supports these values can be a rewarding path for youth who may be unaware of the many opportunities in the Pacific Northwest.

League of United Latin American Citizens of Washington and Oregon partner with Portland State University and the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region to host the 3rd Annual Regional LULAC Youth conference. The conference will focus on building social connections and raising awareness of ways to support the community and the environment. Skill building, education and career opportunities, and civic engagement will all be explored during the youth conference. Our ultimate goal is to plant the seeds for future leadership, inspire youth to think big and help them understand the power they have to change their world.
